(We...it's the sound!), so simple and uncluttered are the construction and design that focus on the essentials: a rich, deep and balanced sound. Mahogany has been used to make ukuleles for over a century. It offers warm, mellow tones, and may not be suitable when you want a bright, sharp sound, but so beautiful in "jazzy" tones. These ukuleles are made in Java, Indonesia, and benefit from the expertise of the Ko'olau/Pono workshops, true pioneers of the ukulele in Hawaii. We've had the pleasure of talking to these enthusiasts and are delighted to offer you their instruments in our shop.

The solid mahogany produces a clear and powerful sound and very singing, once in hand, I must tell you that it is hard to put it down especially since it weighs only 432g!

Production of Koaloha ukuleles began in 1995, handcrafted, one by one, in Honolulu, and although they have undergone improvements over time, they still sound with the same signature: a tone rich in harmony, warmth and luminosity. L'équilibre sonore entre chaque corde et parfait, les mélodies chantent juste et les accords, même les plus compliqués sont bien précis et définis. Disponible en soprano, concert et ténor.

Initially intended for the Portuguese cavaquinho, APC responded favourably to the request of La Casa de Ukulele™ to decline these designs, on concert and soprano ukuleles. This is a vivid and beautifully imperfect handmade paint and engraving job, which has nothing to do with a sanitized and standardized industrial decoration. The solid acacia wood delivers a harmonious sound, with beautiful, full and true notes all along the neck. Made by APC in Portugal.

The solid spruce and acacia wood seem to get along well, and the careful finishing and fine tuning make this ukulele as comfortable as a Victorian sofa.
